This mug’s color palette came from decorating my boyfriend's house. I wanted the mugs to go with the greens, blues and yellows in his kitchen.
In the planning stages of the kitchen, I imagined it being the kind of place where we could build a life and where friends could come over after our Scientology protests to eat, talk, laugh, and spend time together.
He has his own little collection of these mugs and now I'd love for them to find homes with other people too.
Every mug is wheel thrown, hand painted, and hand glazed by me. They all have the same general shape and color palette, but no two come out exactly alike. The way the glaze moves in the kiln, the brushstrokes, the speckles, and the little variations are all part of what I love about making them. The imperfections in the shape are part of the learning process of a human who is doing something they love and learning. I couldn’t make them identical even if I wanted too. Some are a little lopsided and uneven :)
Each one is signed on the bottom before it heads off to its new home.
